Money Saver Tips

Makeup is certainly not inexpensive, that's something we all can agree on. However, there are ways to make the most out of your money when it comes to beauty products. Here are my top three tips for balling on a budget:

1.) Join rewards programs (Ultamate Rewards, Sephora Beauty Insider, etc.).
Create an account and with every purchase, earn points towards money off a future purchase or towards deluxe gifts or samples. Often times there are exclusive offers for rewards members and chances to earn double or triple points.

2.) Subscribe to e-mail lists.
Whether subscribing to beauty department stores such as Ulta or specific brands like tarte, you will be the first to know about special sales and many times have special promotional codes sent for discounts off an entire purchase.

3.) Wait for a sale or free gift with purchase offers.
This is probably the hardest yet simplest tip to save money. It's not always easy to wait for a sale on certain items you want, but there are very high chances that it will be on sale at some point. If the item is not discounted itself, there are times you can get a free gift with the purchase, which to me sometimes justifies paying full price.

Here is a example of a latest Ulta purchase where I took advantage of special offers:

I only purchased two items this day, the Maui Babe Tanning Lotion and Nars Orgasm Lipstick. Being an Ultamate rewards member, I received a free deluxe Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil with my Nars purchase. I also got a free cute flamingo beach towel with any $20 sun care purchase. I used an Ulta $3.50 off coupon on the tanning lotion. To top it all off, I received a 13 piece Ulta beauty set for having a purchase over $35 that included an eyeshadow palette, lipsticks, mascara, brow tint and more.
